2018 BMFA national championships F4H results appeal upheld

My Nationals 2018 S/O scale Another  news update

At long last it's official I  received the Certificate on  6/8/20.. Almost two years after the event !!

The Trophy that I believed had  been sent by the BMFA Scale tech committee  Was Not....
After what seemed to me to be   procrastination to carry out the  4 steps to rectify the original  error, indeed to date, I still do not have  a Certificate .. So I have been in touch with the BMFA competition secretary  again some seven months since the panel's decision,   Her response has been very positive..
she informed me that the trophy had not been sent by the tech committee;  But was intrigued by whom  indeed had done so ..
Further to the trophy mystery.... this sender withheld email message received. Now that Trophy means more to me now than any of the awards from the BMFA..
Hi Pete
Well I think Jo is doing a good job mate. The “small trophy” well that could have been loads of chaps that sent you that, we (all your peers) knew you deserved something to keep as a well-deserved British National Championship winner, that’s cleared that up.The rest of it, glad Jo will be keeping an eye on it from now on, I have no doubt it will all be sorted now.
Best regards to the 2018 National Champion
I thank  you all it's very Humbling chaps, I also thank the Competition Secretary too.. 😊

I received this trophy today 23rd Jan 2020  For Winning the  stand off scale event at the BMFA Nationals 2018, I had originally be placed 2nd due to an computer input  error,  this  error remained until Feb 2019 when Dave Knott and myself  were  checking my static score  against the  model & my model against his plans to find the reason for a lower score than previous competitions..The    error came to light When Dave totaled up the scores while comparing the judges static score sheets with previous competitions the scores had been so much higher,
Alerted  in February to  the  mistake  the scale tech committee  informed me in  August 2019 that the published  result could not be changed due to post event rules.. ie 7 days to protest,  I  had  not done  that as I believed all  the posted scores to be correct as did  others at the time  ..
After reading up on the scale rules re protests, I challenged this ruling though the current BMFA Competition Secretary who convened a panel of  Various  discipline chairmen under her Chairmanship to consider my protesting the STC  decision not to overturn an error that they acknowledged after being investigated by the  scale  nationals contest director and found to be correct.
The panel noted that I  had not made a formal inquiry or protest in the first place  and that David knott had alerted the STC to the error in February,  some five months after the results had been published..
Nonetheless,  I'm very pleased  to say the committee unanimously upheld my protest under General Rule 2.3.9(f) based on the following  factors .
1  That there was clearly an error regarding the published results.
2  That computing & inputting errors had clearly been made regarding results.
3 The STC did not resolve the situation in a timely manner after been alerted to the mistakes in February 2019.
4 That there is not currently  a procedure for making protests regarding published results ..

Meanwhile the published  online scores have been corrected and uploaded to the BMFA results page for the National Championships  also the records  office 2018 Trophy list updated too .
Amendments to current rules forthcoming   I would suspect..

My thanks to all who had input to my cause..

At long last my name on the official Trophy

Pica 1/5th near scale Mustang build  part one    Back in 2020 the start of  Covid lock down  I dug the Two 1/5th scale Pica kits I had tucked away in my garage One being the Mustang the other a Spitfire kit  bought years earlier, as I had just completed a 1/6th Mick Reeves MK16 spitfire  I choose to start the Mustang, some two years later  I  got to run up the Moki 210  Engine   in the  garden..  so here are pics taken during my build  not blow by blow,   Maybe not in the correct order, I  spent hours looking at Mustang pics & forums  and I came across  a complete  Mustang Build topic on  RCU build by Szempruw link   I found this to be of great help during my build, I know much about Spitfires, Hurricanes & Wyverns  etc,  If you read  my blog of  models I have built & they have all flown..  Very little Knowledge regards Mustangs  I never intended to do as much detail as I have, although  the cockpit is very sparse as regards all the levers & trimmings  can't be
