It's not easy!

  I had been ask to help sort though a loft full of vintage models & engines  Of a good friend of mine  who is now no longer able to take part in this hobby,   One of the the models found is this Skyleader  skymaster,  this may have been one ex  Skyleader display team aircraft  as Geoff Wolfe  used to work for Skyleader at one time ...     Pics here of  original  condition when found before refurb of airframe & recovering .. The Engine is a Webra 61R  this was cleaned up,  Not dismantled.. I used a heat gun to heat up the engine  to soften the  old  caster  residue, removed the glow plug  (still worked)  & added after run oil  to the top of the piston though the exhaust port & carb  slowly turning over the engine,  I then added glow fuel  though the carb this really loosened the engine up,  using more glow fuel  I  flushed ...

My modified  Westland Wyvern  R/c model 1/6th(just under ) Standoff scale flying over the South Downs UK on finals  landing approach..   The engine is a Laser 300V f/s   Custom retracts are very near scale, These were made for me by an model engineering  friend John Pace ..   This model is a reworking of my first  ARTF  by Black Horse models  .. pretending to be an S4 Wyvern , but in fact its a low back  T1 fuz with a  S4 cowling,  jet exhaust outlet, canopy, & mk2 wing layout ..                Sporting new Static contra rotating Propellers 8 blades  Placed 3rd in stand off scale 2015 BMFA national, although I had the Highest flight score of the S/O class modified ARTFs can't compete with built models as the rules are stand at present..    at the prize giving  Bmfa Chairman  Chris Moynihan gave me his  personal...
